This site is an acronym for “Are You Interested?”, but recently they changed their site name to FirstMet. This was good news seemingly at first. There was not a good reputation with AYI. We hoped that with a change in their name, perhaps their scammy tactics would change as well. Maybe it would become a worthwhile dating site. Unfortunately, it’s more of the same. AYI Dating Site Review (aka FirstMet)
Rather than a dating site like the others we discuss here, this is instead a mobile app. We saw a lot of the same things that we find on all the other crappy dating sites. There is seemingly a big pool of potential partners when you browse the site, but you soon find that it is full of fake profiles. That’s a shame.
You can spend almost all your time just trying to figure out who is real and who is fake. Sometimes it can be like a needle in a haystack. We would wager that over 90% of the profiles are robots.
We thought that this app might be different. We’ve downloaded a lot of apps in the past and quickly deleted them. This process was no stranger to us. But we were hoping to find something worthwhile with AYI. Sad to say we didn’t get that.
Features of the AYI App
There are a lot of things to like about AYI/FirstMet if it weren’t for the fake profiles. To sign up, you are first shown a set of images. You then choose three of these images to represent your interests. Kind of a unique way to begin a profile, and super easy. Nice way to find compatible matches.
Opportunity to Hook Up
Unfortunately, the coolness of this app ends there. As we already mentioned above, there is slim to no chance of ever meeting a real person on this site that will lead to a hookup. The odds are against you, and we don’t recommend investing the time to find someone real.
Cost
This is just like most other sites where you can join for free and get access to basic functionality. You can create a profile, upload up to 10 pictures, and even ask a question to break the ice for visitors to your page.
Beyond that, if you want to do any communication, you have to pay up. A membership is $24.99 per month, with discounted rates offered for 3 month or 6 month memberships. While this is affordable, it’s wasted money when there are no women to chat with.
Final Thoughts on AYI
We pretty much think that they rebranded as FirstMet to try to start anew and get rid of the bad reputation they had with AYI. The crappy thing is, they did nothing different in the new iteration. It’s the same old crap with fake profiles, just like this other one. There’s no getting away from that. Nobody is going to continue to use an app that leads to nothing. This app sucks worse than it did before.
