In this Bedpage review, we’ll look into whether or not this can be an alternative to Backpage.com.
Let’s be honest, the Internet is littered with sites that let you post free advertisements on them. The majority of these sites cater to the people looking for escorts and hookers in most of the major Cities across the USA, and well, probably the small towns too. In my never ending search for sex, I’ve come across so many of these sites that it blows my mind how much smut is really out there. I’m going to dive in now and share with you my thoughts on Bedpage, which has a very bizarre story behind it. You’ll get the entire breakdown below, and find out my soup to nuts review of this Backpage alternative.
My Bedpage.com Analysis and Rating
It didn’t take me long to find out that this place was not living up to its promising image of a Backpage.com alternative.
The site is more like a hodge podge of all the sites out there that feature people looking for sex and hook ups. I can’t tell if it’s just some Internet maven hacking away and re-posting the stuff from other sites, but it sure does feel like it.
The Homepage
Once you visit the home page, you’ll see that it’s very similar to the original backpage.com website. In fact, I read elsewhere that it was called “identical.” When Backpage.com was shut down, I ended up finding this one, so that tells me that someone was looking to capitalize on all the lost traffic and demand out there. Most of this site is all about escorts, and not much else.
Have a look for yourself, there are other sections bu they are entirely blank! Literally zero ads!
Other Review Notes
Browsing the women seeking men section, (where else would I be), it’s apparent their motive here. Advertisements litter the section and it’s quite obvious the goal here is to connect people with websites they may be owners of or have ties to.
It’s obvious that the site has a clear goal here, and it’s looking to capitalize on the market for horny men looking for sexual favors. While that’s pretty much “me to a T,” I’m not the type of guy who appreciates being messed around with into some clicking funnel where I end up on a paid site that I wasn’t looking for. When I want to join paid sites, and trust me, I do, I do so without getting roped into it. Read about the sites I enjoy on the home page.
If you were thinking of using this site, go ahead and save yourself the aggravation, it’s not the savior website we had hoped would replace Backpage.
On the Positive….
The one thing I noticed was that some of the sites that were being linked to on the advertisements were actually sites I’d looked into and some of them, even reviewed. One of the ads looked familiar, and when I clicked through, it was about 420 dating.
My Final Thoughts on BedPage.com
All in all, if you want to find escorts, there are better places. If you are looking for hook up sites meant for adults, go that route. I review so many sites I’ve used, or that friends and co-editors have used, that it’s really a matter of just joining up on those and working your magic.
As mentioned above, there appear to be many images that were simply grabbed (on the Internet we call that scraping) from other websites. That’s always something that makes me question the authenticity of the site.
The fact that this site is referenced on RipOffReport is NOT a good thing. You want to avoid sites that have poor reputations, and this one appears to fit the bill of being on the shady side.
