When you first land on HookupHangout’s opening screen, it seems pretty authentic. Once you actually register, though, you’ll realize this site is nothing but smoke and mirrors.
HookupHangout claims to offer its members a great benefits package, including:
- Being a “top free” dating site
- Finding a sex partner quickly
- Real singles who want to truly want to meet up
- Accurate, verified user information
- Message security
- 24/7 customer service and support
- Spam control and great user feedback
If you pay attention, though, you will see that these are just vague marketing terms used to convince you that they are a good site. But don’t let it fool you. HookupHangout is a site that uses a ton of fake profiles and is definitely not free.
The Truth Behind HookupHangout
There are multiple reasons why HookupHangout is a total sham:
- You must agree to let them make your profile public.
What does that mean? That means that your profile is available to be searched publicly. That means no privacy or discreet encounters. I’m pretty sure you want your personal business kept personal, but with HookupHangout, you’re agreeing to your profile being searchable within co-branded sites and on third-party search engines.
- They use an automated icebreaker system.
HookupHangout utilizes robo messaging that you can’t stop receiving. While they claim this is to increase the chances of your success on the site, this software-generated content is actually used to convince members to upgrade their memberships and to keep the site busy.
- They use fake images.
A reverse image search of many of the profiles revealed exactly what I suspected when I initially logged on and started flirting. The images utilized by HookupHangout are stock images found across a wide variety of other dating sites. Seriously, if the women appear to be too hot to be believed, they usually are.
- They use the hard upsell.
Once you get to the screen that allows you to pick your membership level, you’ll see just how “free” they are. (Hint, they’re not). If you want priority listings, advanced chat options, or any webcam services, you’re paying for it. Almost nothing comes with the free membership.

You do have the option of the VIP membership, which is an additional $14.90 a month on top of the membership fee. Yes, to access everything on the site, you have to pay even more!
Conclusion
Hookup Hangout isn’t a site I would recommend. With a high number of fake profiles, your chances of finding a hot date are slim. And with almost zero security, the possibility of being hacked and having your identity stolen is quite high. Plus, your personal business is available for anyone to see that searches for your name. In my opinion, HookupHangout just isn’t worth the headache or the wasted money.
